Château La Mascaronne, a terroir-driven Rosé

A singular heritage, a treasured vineyard, a protected ecosystem: today, thanks to the ceaseless efforts of its dedicated men and women, the terroir of La Mascaronne is producing exceptional wines as never before, among which Château La Mascaronne Rosé, a true terroir-driven rosé.

Château La Mascaronne Rosé derives its quality not only from the grape varieties that comprise its blend but also from the soils on which the estate’s grapevines are planted. The Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Vermentino and Mourvèdre grapes, typical Provence varieties, are harvested at the height of ripeness. In the cellar, complexity is key when composing the blend, so that each variety can bring its touch the final result.

Hence, Château La Mascaronne Rosé is uniquely expressive and balanced. When enjoyed young, Château La Mascaronne Rosé is delightful before or with a meal. But it is also marvelous after several years of aging, a more unusual feat for a rosé wine. The wine’s luminous pink hue makes it immediately identifiable as a Provence wine and is like a foretaste of the luscious, complex aromas of fresh, ripe fruit that it delivers.

Besides this great rosé wine, La Mascaronne’s terroir is ideal for cultivating grapes to produce red and white wines. Part of the estate’s legacy, the grapevines that produce the grapes used to craft Château La Mascaronne Rouge are planted on the vineyard’s ideally oriented higher elevations.
Syrah grapes make up the lion’s share of the blend, alongside a smaller amount of Cabernet Sauvignon. Intense and complex, with excellent structure, Château La Mascaronne Rouge is most enjoyable five to ten years after harvest.

As for the grapevines used to produce our white wines, the soils on which they grow are meticulously selected. The Vermentino that makes up the majority of the blend is picked at the very end of harvest to guarantee optimal concentration and maturity, and the resulting wines are a wonderful expression of the grape’s natural aromas. A smaller portion of Semillon grapes brings a certain complexity to the final blend.
Delectable when young, Château La Mascaronne Blanc is also exquisite after three or four years of aging, when its floral notes and aromas of pear will have evolved into notes of apricot and quince.
